Sunday’s 55th Grammy’s has its ups and downs

Being nominated for and performing at the Grammy’s are what every musician strives for.  Sunday marked the awards’ 55th year, with performances from Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Maroon 5, Alicia Keys, Fun., the Black Keys, and many others.  Some excelled, and others…not so much.

Ed Sheeran’s performance with Elton John was fantastic. They performed Ed’s song, “The A-Team,” and their chemistry together on stage was phenomenal. I really liked the acoustic take on the song with Elton playing the piano, and the high-five they gave each other at the end made it even more perfect!

Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys’ performance was amazing, too. They were two artists I couldn’t see pairing up to perform together. But it really worked,  though I was caught off guard by Alicia Keys’ drumming. They performed Alicia’s “Girl on Fire” and Maroon 5’s “Daylight”. It was an interesting mix, but I loved it.
